Hannes Steinert studied at the Free Art School in Nürtingen (Germany) from 1977 to 1980  and from 1981 to 1986 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. In 1984 he received the Academy Prize and since then he had been working as an artist.

He is a master of linocut and printmaking. He loves lines. He loves men and their erotic displays. He loves landscapes and abstractions.

He daily draws every first quarter of the year a cartoon for his collector community and sends it every morning via messenger.

On January 28, 2024, the documentary about his art and his life “Fluchtpunkt Kunst" [Vanishing Point: Art] had premiere in Stuttgart.
